I had a blast with this couple, who we married last year, during their anniversary photo session in Pismo Beach.

What is an anniversary photo session?

It is a way for the couple to enjoy their photo experience a  little more.  With the rush of the big day, many times the couple is spending their photo time with family and friend pictures and don’t get the extra time for themselves.  Or the couple feels they need to rush off to the reception. The anniversary pictures are a way to get those pictures you really wanted. This couple was married on a very hot day in July at around 4 pm at a location where the tide was high that day. So, this wasn’t the best conditions for on the beach photos. Their anniversary photos were taken at sunset, during low tide, and during a cooler evening.   The couple  selected the perfect outfits for the day!  The bride wore the same salmon color as her wedding colors.

The anniversary session can be done with more casual clothes or a chance for the couple to go a little dressier with a beach dress, add a flower crown or even a smaller bouquet with the same flowers as she had on her wedding day.

Anniversary session are also perfect for couples with children.  Many times, on the wedding day, the children are not as happy as they normally would be – didn’t sleep well in a hotel, didn’t eat a lot because they were in a new surrounding, or didn’t have time for their naps.  For the anniversary session you can select the best time where your child will be more themselves.
