Pismo Beach Wedding Permits

To get married on the beach in Pismo you need a permit. There are also 2 sets of rules for weddings on the beach, depending on your location.

Both places won’t issue permits on busy holiday weekends or when other major events are happening.

Pismo Beach Wedding Permit Requirements #1

If you are looking at the ocean and facing the Pismo Beach pier,  to the right and the left of the pier, the rules are:

  • 60 day waiting period (yes, 60 days!)
  • Non refundable application fee, wedding insurance and a completed application must be submitted for approval
  • Starting at $85

Pismo Beach Wedding Permit Requirements #2

A little farther down the beach, near Finns and Grand Ave. the rules are:

  • Diagram of exact location and set up of event submitted for approval
  • Once approved, application and wedding insurance submitted
  • Starting at a $50  permit fee depending on the location and number of guests

Fees for weddings change, but here are the averages:

Avila Beach $450 (from 0 guests to 50)

Cambria $150-$200 (depends on the beach)

Morro Bay $65

Santa Barbara $65
