Romantic Beach Elopement – Necmi and Feliz
This romantic couple traveled all the way from Turkey to say their vows along the California coast in Shell Beach. They decided to get married in a secluded cove. During the ceremony you could hear the waves in the distance and even some playful sea otters were in the water. The beautiful bride had an elegant white dress, wore a crown of flowers in her hair and carried a matching bouquet. Her maid of honor wore a flowing yellow dress and a crown of flowers in her hair, as well. The groom looked equally handsome in this linen suit – all smiles for his bride. Surrounded by friends and family, they joined their hearts together and vowed their love for one another.
Because they are from different religious backgrounds, we tried to incorporate something for each of them into the wedding ceremony. Since the couple mentioned that they believed that one of their strengths was their understanding and compassion for each other. We felt that blending that feeling into the ceremony and representing both of them was important. So, we not only read from St. Paul’s Letter to the Corinthians, but also added several Middle Eastern quotes that spoke about marriage.
The first one states that the successful marriage is not when you can live in peace with your wife, but when you cannot live in peace without her.
The second quote is that a good husband wipes away his wife’s tears, but a great husband listens to the story of why she cries.
The third quote states: “And, may your marriage offer fruit and shade like the date palm. May your marriage be full of laughter; every day, a day in paradise. May your marriage be a sign of compassion, a seal of happiness here and hereafter. May your marriage have a fair face and a good name, an omen as welcome as the moon in a clear blue sky.”
The couple also mentioned that, if there is a disagreement between them, they try to understand each other and remind each other that they are from two different backgrounds and therefore they must be understanding with each other. This is good advice for any successful marriage!
After the ceremony and some pictures of the happy couple and their guests, the bride and groom and their guests shared a wedding dinner that a private chef prepared for them. With penthouse views of the ocean as the sun sank into the horizon line, this beautiful day came to a perfect end.
